The topic of sustainable and secure energy supplies is a key issue in the economic recovery and growth of the European Union in the coming years. As such, various bodies of the EU have issued a plethora of reports, decisions, legislation, opinions and other documents covering these topics. Because of the wide range of available information, it is often difficult to gain a holistic understanding of the state of the energy market in the EU, the key issues and current policy initiatives.
To make it easier to understand the current situation and possible ways forward, we have compiled the following overview of the state of the energy market from materials prepared for the aforementioned meeting and working groups.
